7 Apr 1933 - "Uncle" Billie Ebarb, expired Sunday night at 9 o'clock. Hehad been in failing health for the past year or more.
Interment was at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Catholic cemetery, atZwolle, the last rites being conducted at St. Joseph's Catholic church bythe Rev. Father J. E. Howard.
Uncle Billie was born in the Ebarb community, January 18, 1855, being adirected descendant of a colonist and original settler of Sabine parish.His entire life had been spent in the same community where he became thefather of ten children, six of whom survive, his wife having preceded himto the grave. Surviving children are: Pual Ebarb, member of the SabineParish school board, of Zwolle; Pat Ebarb, justice of the peace of Ward5; Mattie, wife of Geo. Procell of Zwolle; Mary, wife of Jerry Mora ofZwolle; Lucile, wife of Jim Y'Barb of Angelina, Texas; Fannie, wife of G.W. Martinez, member of the police jury of Ward 5, of Zwolle. The widow,a second wife also survives, as does 55 grandchildren and
23 great grandchildren.
Uncle Billie was always active in ward and parish politics, a trueDemocrat, and a progressive citizen.
