  SOURCE! THE THOMPSON FAMILY GENEALOGY, BY MAY BELLE THOMPSON SMITH, ROUTE 1 BOX 154, ARARAT, VIRGINIA 24053 Floyd died of T.B. while in prison for shooting Shade Williams in the head. Dr. Hollingworth's brothers paid Shade $5.00 for his head to autopsy when he died. Shade outlived both of the doctors. Shade was living with this family in 1880 Census as a farm laborer.
