  Per Clan Montgomery he died in 1689 in Rosemount Check Montgomery Manuscripts, says there was only one son Hugh who died young. This version might carry weight, since the author Rev Wm Montgomery lived at Grey Abbey and knew these people. Information from Vance Woods and John Horan have James Montgomery b.1639, Dunskey, IRE, md. to Mary Fitzwilliam, and having sons William,Robert, and Hugh. James Montgomery who was the father of the three Montgomelry boys who James Montgomery who was the father of the three Montgomelry boys wholanded at Jamestown, Virginia in 1666. Some sources say James came withthem but no proof has been found. Hugh returned to Ireland in a fewyears and never married. No record of what became of Robert is known.The third son William, our ancestor, settled on the James River nearJamestown, married, and had three sons and four daughters.
