COMMENT:
Erick Montgomery concludes Alexander could not be the father because all of his children were assigned guardians being under 21 at the time of Alexander's death. He feels the name is mostly likely James of Antrim, Ireland.

Captain Alexander Montgomery who was wounded at the battle of the Boyne in 1690.
Two parcels of land originally purchased by John and Margaret Montgomery, 10 May 1731, willed 10 May 1736 to Alexander Montgomery who willed 13 Sept 1746 to John Montgomery, his son. John and Mary his wife sold for 200 pounds to Robert Montgomery the 35 acres and 56 perches located in Stenning Manor, New Castle County, Delaware. The other heirs of Alexander Montgomery: Moses Montgomery, William Montgomery, Daniel Montgomery, Thomas Strawbridge and his wife Margaret confirmed the title in Release 4th April 1771.
SUMMARY: The above Indenture clearly show John, the son of Alexander married to Mary. Other documents show all of these names as heirs of Alexander.
Deed Book T page 214, Chester County, Pennsylvania, dated 24 May 1771 record John's wife as Esther.
