    • Cal and wife were first tennants and later farm owners in Blount and Loudon Counties. He loved horses and for aperiod around 1910, he was partners with his cousin Tom Montgomery operating a livery stable at Greenback. For several years he owned the "Tedford farm" bordering Nine Mile Creek, within a mile of his birthplace.
