    • In 1746 moved to Catawba Creek in Augusta (now Botetourte)
      CountyVirginia. In 1762 entered 3 tracts of land totaling 950 acres
      on PineRun on the south side of Peak Creek. He served as justice of
      the countycourt and as a captain of the Montgomery County, Virginia
      Militia forseveral years taking the oath Oath of allegiance to
      Virginia in 1778. In1782 he received 50 acres in payment for
      service in the French and IndianWars and paid taxes on 8 slaves.
