      Mrs. Ben Asby, Sabine Parish, Sabine Index, Many, La., Jun 10, 1938

      10 Jun 1938 - Mrs. Ben Asby, age 77, passed away Tuesday evening at 5:45in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wallace DeLatin, after a long illness.

      Mrs. Asby was well known in Sabine parish and was an outstanding memberof the Methodist church, being also a member of the Methodist Missionarysociety.

      Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at theresidence of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace DeLatin, Rev. L. N. Hoffpauirofficiating, assisted by Rev. J. B. Williams and Rev. C. W. Williams.Interment was in the Ft. Jesup cemetery under the direction of theDennis-Green funeral home.

      Mrs. Asby is survived by three children, two daughters, Mrs. Lon Morrisof Negreet and Mrs. Wallace DeLatin of Many, and one son, Ross Asby ofConroe, Texas, 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also twobrothers, Print Furlow of Marthaville and C. M. Furlow of Minden, and twosisters, Mrs. C. P. Rains of Marthaville and Mrs. Cora Mody ofNatchitoches.

      The pallbearers were: H. B. Holland, Noah Taylor, Milton Belisle,Marshall Petty, Jule Quayhagen and LaVerne Dailey. The honorarypallbearers were the stewards of the First Methodist church of Many.
