Death Record of Week
Winfield (sic) C. Wright of Near Downs' Chapel, Dies Suddenly in His
Auto From Heart Attack.
Winfield (sic) C. Wright, aged 56 years, of near Downs' Chapel, west of
Kenton, was found dead at the wheel of his automobile on the dirt road
leading out of Smyrna toward Bayview Schoolhouse, Saturday at noon. Death
evidently resulted from heart trouble as he suffered from a "leaky"
heart. Mr. Wright who was engaged in buying and selling produce had been
on Bayview School road Saturday morning and had stopped at several homes
where he made purchases. Around 12 o'clock, he started back to Smyrna
and his car ran into a deep rut in the road. He was seen by a farmer not
far from where he ran into the rut, to get out of his car and it is
supposed he tried to raise the car out of the mud as a large piece of
wood was found in the mud. The heart attack was probably brought on from
over exertion. He leaves to mourn his death his wife and one son,
Stanley Wright of this town. Funeral services were held this afternoon,
Wednesday at his late home at 1:30 p.m., and interment made at Odd
Fellows Cemetary, Smyrna.
