    • Unidentified newspaper clipping in the possession of Betty Edkin, Topeka, KS. "SGT. CRUM RITES TUESDAY AT SCHALLER Ida Grove, Iowa - Special: Funeral services for Sgt Steven V. Crum, 22, rural Ida Grove, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St Paul's Lutheran church in Schaller, Iowa. Burial will be in the Schaller Cemetery. Christensen Funeral Home, Ida Grove will be in charge. Sgt. Crum was killed Aug 13 in South Vietnam when a booby Trap exploded. He had been called to active duty in May 1968 with the 2nd Battalion of the Iowa National Guard, 133rd Infantry. He went Vietnam in April 1969. He was born Dec 31, 1946 in Ida Grove. On Oct 26, 1968, he married Marsha Marquardt in Schleswig, Iowa. Survivors include the widow; his mother, Mrs. Frank Frankowiak of Schaller; his father, Eugene V. Crum of Buellton, Calif; two brothers, Stanley with the Army in Colorado Springs, Colo, and Roger of Ida Grove; one sister, Mrs. Urban Tripp of Schaller; two half brothers, Mark and Paul of Schaller; one half sister, Donna of Schaller.
