27087 Wife of Archibald Montgomery who was a privateer on Lake Ontario. They moved to Elizabethtown, then in 1787 considered part of Upper Canada. He is believed to have died in Sachetts Harbor, N.Y. after the War sometime during the War of 1812, some say aboard his own ship of which he was a Captain. Dr. David L. Montgomery said he found records that Archibald applied for land in Grenville, Co. from New Johnstown, near Brockville. On 24 May 1794 "Archibald Montgomery recommended by Land board for a grant of 700 acres of land. Ordered that 700 acres be granted." In Reel C -100 at the Public Archives of Canada.
In 1791, Susannah Montgomery (wife of Archibald) wa granted 200 acres of Land. The four children of Archibald and Susannah Montgomery petition for land in Ontario. In 1833, the two boys, Jesse and ARchibald Jr. petition for land. Their father is dead. The petition mentions that they are the sons of the late Archibald Montgomery, of Edwardsburg Township, Grenville County, Ontario. Archibald Jr. received 200 acres in concession 7, Lot 32 in Edwardsburg Twp. Jesse received 200 acres in concession 7, Lot 35 in Edwardsburg Twp.

St. Asaph's at the time of the massacre.

!CONFLICT: Date of death according to John Rupe Everingham (#1032-address764
Beechnut, San Rafael, CA 94903) was March 1771. "It has been said that this
William Montgomery was the brother-in-law as well as the neighbor of Capt.
William Edmonston of the Holston. The latter, who was born in 1724. married
Nancy Montgomery. ("Montgomery-Logan Family of Kentucky", pg 94). The writer
of this quote regards his ancestory as 'unsolved'."
