  She homesteaded a one-fourth section(160 acres) in 1908, Elida, Roosevelt County, New Mexico. This is in the sasme section as William James Goodnight. This land is still in the Montgomery family. From 1912 she lived with Roy C. Montgomery(1885-1941) on the original Montgomery farm on Baker's creek.
