She eventually married Charles Craven,an accountant with ICI. She raised a daughter, Fiona. Following Charles' death, Margaret retired to live Gunthorpe. She died from a heart attack. She separated from Hugh Brown in 1943 when her sons were 5 years and 18 months respectively. She left with her sons, initially moving to Barnsley Road, Doncaster, then to Boston Spa, and then back to Barnsley Road. She lost custody of the sons, losing Phillip when he was three.
