    • Lived in Lawrence Co IN,Otterville, MO in l864, and in Arkansas. l864-Otterville, MO- Home was destroyed during the Cil War; Son Isaac enlisted in the Confederate Army and was probably killed in battle. Lived in Ark. after the War and had a family of 10 children. A son, J. E. lived at Jacksboro, TX about 1900.
      He wrote a letter to his brother, Elijah Montgomery on Jan. 31, l864 and told him about his house and barn being burned to the ground during the battles near Otterville-Battles were at Booneville and Sedalia, MO. Said he had nothing left but his land. He told Elijah that he wished their sons could have been on the same side. Elijah's son, John, was in the Union Army and died in Miss. This letter was sent to Elijah's son, Elijah Louis, as Elijah had died in l863.
