Dock Master in New Amsterdam ************************************************************************** ** May 14, 1984 My (Nancy C.Fulkerson Hill) visit to Valenciennes France on Ap 1, 1994 was interesting. I spent the afternoon with 3 helpful archives workers in their municipal archive which was in the throes of construction. I had my hands on some manuscripts dating from 1302 which contained a list of mayors. It was hand-written and illustrated in illuminated manuscript style.
