    • Mary Frances was a Latin Teacher whose poetry was published in the Poetry Cosity of Virginia's Anthology in 1985. She married Meade Flinn of Alberta. VA on Aug 1, 1934. Her obituary notice in the Richmond paper. May 18, 1987, gives this account of her life:
      "A funeral for Mrs. Mary Frances Shepard Flinn, a retired teacher of Latin and English in the Brunswick County schools was held today at Trintiy=St. Mark's Episcopal Church here. (Alberta,VA). Burial was in Holdy Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetary in Hertford, N.C.
      "Mrs. Flinn, whose career spanned 27 years, died Saturday in a Rcihmond hospital. She was 78.
      "She was known for translating poems from Latin and for original poems about the Perquaman River area of the Outer Banks of North Carolina ner Albemarle Sound.
      " A native of Hertford, N.C. Mrs. Flinn granduated in 1930 from what is now Longwood College. She was a member of the Poetry Society of Virginia, the Alberta Woman's Club and the Hicksford Chapter of the American Revolution and a charter member of the Alberta Book Club.
      "Survivors include her husband Meade Flinn, tow sons, Lyman Meade Flinn and Robert Strudevant Flinn of Alberta."
