  Found Brooks and Ida in the 1920 census outside Sweetwater, Nolan Co, TX. All of the kids were listed as living with them. Also it listed Dona as being born in Oregon. Brooks was listed as a farmer renting his home. Found Brooks and Ida in the 1910 census in Nolan Co, TX. Living with them were Donnie, Marvin, and Nolan. Also Brooks' brother Mark was living with them at the time. Brooks was listed as a farmer. Found Brooks in the 1900 census living in Lampasas Co., TX. Brooks was listed as the head of the household at age 17. Living with him were Lula, Valma, Robert, and Mark (his brothers and sisters). He was a farmer owning his own home. John had remarried and was living with his new wife, their daughter, and the wife's children from her previous marriage. -------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Obituary for Brooks A. Montgomery: Funeral services for Brooks A. Montgomery, 74, of Phoenix, who died in Fresno, Calif., Monday, will be held at Conger-Morris Funeral home Friday at 2:30 p.m.. The Rev. Dean Pense of the Phoenix Church of Christ will officiate. Committal will be in the Phoenix cemetary. Mr. Montgomery was born Oct. 22, 1882, in Texas, and had lived in southern Oregon since 1923. He was a member of the Neighbors of Woodcraft. On Aug. 14, 1904, in Blackwell, TX, he was married to Ida McAbee, who survives. Survivors besides his wife include four sons, Don Montgomery, Talent, OR; Nolan Montgomery, Phoenix, OR; Marvin Montgomery, Fresno, CA; and Raymond Montgomery, Medford, OR; three daughters, Mrs. M. O. Baker, Vancouver, WA; Mrs. Elvy Hunter, Ashland, OR; and Mrs. John Miller, Fresno, CA; one brother, Clarence Montgomery, Riverside, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Shirrell, Fullerton, CA; and Mrs. Lila Sepulver, Abilene, TX; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Delbert Cook, Virgil Strong, Bob Furry, Walter Germer, Walter Bottom, and Ralph Cook.
