Notes - Found John and Texana (John's second wife) listed in the 1910 census living near Fort Bayard, Grant Co., NM. John is listed as being a farmer. It lists John and Texana as having been married 2 times each and that this marriage has lasted 12 years. It lists them as having had 5 children and that they are all still alive, 4 of which are Texana's from her first marriage(but where is Olive who should be 11 yrs old?) John is renting his farm.
John and Texana were living in Grant Co., NM in 1905 when the Lampasas Co., TX property was sold that Brooks was living on with his brothers and sisters (they are listed in the 1900 census copy).
Found John and Texana listed in the 1900 census living in Lampasas Co., TX. John is listed as being a farmer and owning his own farm (is this the property they are living on or the 160 acres that they sold in 1905? (Or is this the land that may have been Texana's and her previous husband?). Living with them is their daughter Olive 1 year old, and 3 of Texana's 4 children, Albro, Edgar and Ward/Wood/Word (can't read the writing). Strangely, John has listed his parents as both being born in Alabama where all of the other census's list Mississippi.
Found John and 'Nannie' listed in the 1880 census living in Lampasas Co.,TX. John is listed as being a farmer. Minnie and Effie are listed as living with them.
On Clarence Montgomery's death certificate, John's middle initial is listed as "F."
