  !BIRTH-DEATH-MARRIAGE: Died 1832 per Family Group Sheet compiled by Wilma Montgomery Hedge, GGGG-Grandaughter. Date and burial place apparently came from pg.335 of the 1903 book by D.B. Montgomery. More accurate dates are believed to be in the bible record of her son, William (See notes under Thomas Montgomery for details.) !BIOGRAPHY: DAR Nat. No. 443948. Mary Patton Montgomery was a woman of rare intellect and character, speaking the Scotch dialect with perfect accent. She became a great Indian interpreter, conversing in the language of all the Indian tribes living and trading in the section of the country in which she lived. Pages 334-335, THE MONTGOMERYS AND THEIR DESCENDANTS; D.B. Montgomery; 1903 (Reprinted 1992) in the possession of John C. Montgomery, Atlanta, GA. One source lists the name as Mary Caroline Patton; proof unknown.
