  !BIRTH-MARRIAGE-DEATH: "Children of Pride" & Midway church records He was for some years prior to the Civil War a rice planter in LibertyCounty. He also engaged in Daguerreotypy, and later operated a sawmill. During the Civil War he was a private in the Liberty Independent Troop (Company G,5th Regiment Georgia Cavalry). For some 25 years he was an elder of the Flemington Presbyterian Church. He died in Savannah on November 19th,1902, survived by eightr children, and was buried beside his wife, Jane Spivey (1832-1885), in Flemington Cemetery, Liberty County.
