    • !MARRIAGE: Magoffin County Historical Society. According to them thehistory
      of the Walker family is well documented in a book by Emma S. White,
      "Descendants of John Walker of Wigton." The parents of John Walker hadmoved
      from Scotland to near Newry, Ireland, later to Chester County, PA. JohnWalker
      and some of his brothers moved from Pennsylvania to Augusta County, VA,and
      soon moved to Rockbridge County, VA where they settled on a creek whichbears
      the family name. John Walker and family moved to Orange County, NC about1767.
      It is reported his wife died in NC. Some of John Walker's land was onMoons
      Creek in what was then Orange County, NC, but in 1777 became CaswellCounty.
      About 1772 John Walker sold his land in NC and moved to Russell County,VA,
      where he died in 1778.
