Order Bks proceedings at County Courts: 23 Aug 1757 sworn as UnderSheriff for
Drury Stith, Sheriff (#7, p 97); 28 Jul 1760 produced a commission underseal
of the Colony appointing him Lieutenant of a Foot Company, took the usualoaths
to his Majesty's person and government, subscribed the test, and tookoath as
lieutenant of the militia (#8, p 91); 23 May 1774 recommended to theGovernor
to be added to the Commission of the Peace (#13, p 24); 24 Sep 1784declined to
serve as Justice, the fact cerrtified to the Governor (# 14, p 9).Frederick
Maclin was a member of the House of Burgesses at Assemblies of Oct 1765,May
1769, 1775-1776, and of Conventions of 1775 and 1776. (Standard's Colonial
Virginia register).
Frederick Maclin and Lucy his wife, 28 Nov 1776, conveyed land to Mason
Harwell. Frederick Maclin of Brunswick and his brother, William Maclin,of
Greensville, VA, 20 Aug 1793, conveyed to their brother-in-law, JamesMaclin og
greensville 650 acres in Brunswick (Deed Bk 16, p 6) On 21 Oct 1796,
Frederick Maclin conveyed to his son, James Maclin of Mecklenburg, VA,
certain slaves.
His will written 6 Mar 1807, and probated 26 Dec 1808 in Brunswick, VA inWill
Bk #7, pg 303 names his children, Frederick, James, Nathanial, Patsy wifeof
Joseph Saunders, Lucy (Maclin) Lewis, Amy (Maclin) Clack, and Elizabethwife of
John Hardaway, and appoints John Hardaway and Joseph Saunders itsexecutors.
