Dr. Peter Hoyl was for a long time a very prominent andactive practicing physician and at one time had a large estate of lands, negroes, mills, etc. Thomas Powell and John Hardman to 1985..Dr. Hoyleoperated a mill in the early days of Dekalb, somewhere on the south side of Decatur,no doubt within the present city limits.
