      May have had a relative named Jefferson Montgomery. Lafe Barnes told Glenthat Charles b.1902 said there was another Montgomery in Pulaski (nowLaclede County) at the time of Carrie's death when the kids were beingfarmed out. Charles was abt 12 when he asked Jefferson Montgomery to takehim in but he said he couldn't afford to.

      Glen Montgomery went to Laclede County courthouse in Dec 98, didn't findany deed transfer on Jefferson's land. See Montgomery Gen on D Drive.

      Robert Honeycutt said his mother, Maude Blanche Montgomery Honeycuttvisited with John about 1917.

      Death Certificate says he lived 3 miles NW of Plattesville, was a farmerand widowed from Nancy Jane Montgomery. Also indicates residence in thearea was 5 years.

      John died on Tuesday, April 7th and was buried the following Staurday.
