Charles moved to Camden, New Jersey in 1888. He graduated from the
Franklin School of Optics in Philadelphia in 1897. He received his
degree of Doctor of Optometry from Philadelphia Optical College on April
27, 1923 and was honored by the Pennsylvania State College of Optometry
on June 9, 1936. He was appointed to the New Jersey State Board of
Optometry by Gov. Harold G Hoffman on September 19, 1936 for a three-year
term.
