      Clyde Montgomery, former resident of Winn Parish, died February 27 in aSan Antonio hospital, after a short illness. He was 44 years and sixmonths old.

      Funeral services were conducted in a San Antonio funeral home Monday,March 1, at 10 a.m. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Montgomery,following services held in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, of which thedeceased was a member. Rev. Mrs. Lula Wardlow, assisted by Rev. A. N.Baum, conducted the services here. Burial was under direction of HixsonFuneral Home.

      Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Montgomery of San Antonio; hisparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Montgomery, Sr., of Montgomery; threebrothers, Bill, Loyd, and J. T. Montgomery, jr., all of Houston, Texas;three sisters, Mrs. W. W. Phillips, Mrs. R. R. Ward, both of Houston, andMrs. Vesca Shaw of
      Zimmerman; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

      Pallbearers included T. W. Fowler, Earl Johnson, Roy Moore, Ollie Bishop,Johnny Bishop, and Henry Kieffer.
