      Marshall E. (Dusty) Rhodes, 73, of Gatesville died March 1 at Scott andWhite Hospital in Temple.

      Services weere held March 2 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. DonSurles officiating. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery.

      Born July 25, 1914 in Robeline, LA, he was the son of the late Dan andLillie Rhodes. He was raised and attended school in Robeline (NachitochesParrish). He married Virginia Byrd March 9, 1936.

      They resided in Louisiana before moving to Texas in May 1959. He was aretired civil service employee with Fort Hood. he retired after 32 yearsof service. Following his retirement he was employed at Wal-Mart inGatesville and with M.A.T.E.S. He was a member of the Gateway BaptistChurch and a member of the Gatesville Masonic Lodge No. 197,

      Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Howell ofNatchitoches, LA, Mrs. Cheryl Palmer and Kim Rhodes, both of Gatesville;two sons, C. W. Rhodes of Waco and Ronnie Rhodes of Gatesville; twosisters, Auria Hall of Natchitoches, LA and Rena Beason of DeBerry; onebrother, Archie Rhodes of DeBerry; 11 grandchildren; and eightgreat-grandchildren.

      The pallbearers at the funeral were his grandsons.
