Byrd, age 91, who passed away March 24,were conducted at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, at 3 p.m., March 25, withRev. Kelly Fitzgerald officiating, assisted by Rev. Earl Marr. Intermentwas in the church cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons of Mrs. L. W. Byrd, Mildred V. Byrd, AubreyDavis, Francis Oxley, Truman Oxley, Gerald Patrick, Larry Byrd, JimmyEnis, Bobby Gene Chance. Survivors are two sons, Joseph and Luther Byrd of Florien; sevendaughters, Mrs. Effie Oxley, Mrs. Eula Mae Alford, and Mrs. PearlPatrick, all of Many, Mrs. Lula Ross of Negreet, Mrs. Emma Oxley ofShreveport, Mrs. Ruth Enis of Bossier City, and Mrs. Oma Chance ofFlorien; thirty five grandchildren; fifty five great grandchildren; sixgreat-great grandchildren; one brother, Willie Hardin of Florien;sisters, Mrs. Nancy Reed of Texarkana, Mrs. Cassie Sumpter of LakeCharles, Mrs. Alice Lee, Miss Ellen Hardin, and Mrs. Minnie Jordan, all of Florien.
