Notes - Ann Lynch Boyer had always been told that Peyton Lynch brought the bricks from Virginia to Patterson Louisiana family plot.
She believes he was not separated from Ann, but went to Virginia frequently.
From New Orleans, one could get a boat heading around the Straights of Florida for ports along the eastern coast. Lumber , cotton, sugar cane and rice were commodities shipped constantly from the Port of New Orleans, not to mention beaver skins coming down the river from points north and northwest.
Peyton Lynch also served in the War of 1812, but I do not have his record of service from the National Archives, as yet.
I have been told that he came to Louisiana to acquire lands with potential in the lumber business and indeed he did establish a saw mill on his plantation property. If the plantation lands were used for other areas of business I do not know, but 20 slaves and some women, does not suggest a sugar plantation. I think his business was lumber.
