Raising the new Chief’s Standard

We are pleased to announce an exciting event that will take place at the Stone Mountain Highland Games October 19-20, 2019.

Following the untimely death of his Father last June, Lord Montgomerie has succeeded to titles and arms, making him the holder of the undifferenced arms of the Name of Montgomery, and therefore the new Clan Chief.

Following the Earl’s grant of a Chief’s Standard by the Lord Lyon, we will be holding a Raising of the Standard & the official appointment of a new Sennachie to the Chief. It will take place at the opening ceremony on the main field at 12 Noon on October, 19th. We would like to see many members of Clan Montgomery Society march on to the field and participate in this once in a lifetime event.

That evening, there will be a “Meet and Greet” for Clan Montgomery members to celebrate the new Earl. If you plan to attend or want more information, please RSVP via email to

This is a rare opportunity to witness the hand over to a new Chief, so please come and support the Clan.
